7D Tour to Taiwan - Dec 2009

My mom and I went for X'mas holiday trip to Taiwan from 19 ~ 26 December 2009. It's a 7 days all rounded Taiwan tour organized by Chan Brothers.

The journey (by coach) started from Taipei > to Yilan > to Hualien > to Taitung > to Kenting & Kaoshiung > to Tainan > then back to Taipei. Along the way, we may also took bullet train from Kaoshiung to Tainan. We have visited many scenic attractions like:-

• Sun Moon Lake / Wenwu Temple / Mt. Maolin Trail
• Sisters Pond / Eluanbi Lighthouse / Maobitou
• Taroko Gorge / Swallow Caves / Nine Turn Grotto
• Hsueshan Tunnel / Yilan / Taitung
• Chuifen 九份 / Shihlin Night Market
• Taipei 101 Tower / Taipei 101 Shopping Mall / Ximenting / Wulai Waterfalls / Dou Fu Street

The taiwanese tour guide shared with us that there are 3 major and 3 minor funny remarks about Taiwan and it's cultural:-

• 三大 (3 big) - 山多(many mountains)，便利店多(many convenient stores) 和(and) 嚤哆车多 (many motorbikes).
• 三小 (3 small) - 拉扱少(less rubbish), 警察少(less policemen) 和(and) 肥妹少(most ladies are thin and slim).

We had 1 malaysian and 1 taiwanese tour guide with us throughout the trip. 小宇 is from Taiwan. He is a very entertaining person and most of us liked him :D

超4 Versus 星光6

This 2 hot series (Super Idol) were aired on Taiwan TV channel now - [星光6] 是中視週末綜藝節目而 [超级4] 是台視週末強檔綜藝節目。 They have captured large number of 'GLOBAL' spectators/audiences (抢高收視历)!

超偶已在第4届而超級星光已是第6屆! They started the recruitments & selections about the same period. Last weekend:-

• 超4从两两PK开始参赛, 经过了最專業的評審團隊、最頂尖的硬體設備和最嚴謹的評選過程,目前已迈入30 强。
• 星光6还在分組PK賽2, 由4位老师带队。 刚开始有48位,要慢慢PK掉差不多18位参赛者。

I definitely will not miss out watching these two series every weekends, good show!

Standard Chartered Marathon Run

I took part in the Standard Chartered Marathon Run last weekend (6 December 2009 at 8:30 am) held at the Anderson Bridge / The Padang.

What was my score? I completed the run in 1 hour & 28 minutes, yippy!

超級巨聲 (HK)

超級巨聲 is a HK series - a 'Super Idol' singing competition.

Till todate, there are already 20 episodes, and still in the process of shortlisting the contestants. Majority of them sang in mandarin but at some series, some will sang in cantonese and english too.

這個由劉美君主持的真人騷音樂節目，眾參賽者會經過不同的回合，競逐超級巨聲的寶座。早前已經選了一百位參賽者進入初賽，每一集他們都會接受不同的挑戰，以及考他們的歌藝。而星級評判團包括有譚詠麟、李克勤、古巨基、側田、謝安琪、蘇永康、郭偉亮、藍奕邦等。

Minori & Rain Karaoke @ UE Square

On Friday, 9th October 2009, we had Japanese dinner at Minori Restaurant located at UE Square, River Valley with office colleagues. This outing also included the karaoke-ing session next to the Restaurant called 'Rain Karaoke'.

Ouhhhhuuu, I went home late that night, almost 2 am :D
