OUR Wedding Reception

We arrived Alor Setar on Friday early morning (26 Oct) around 7'ish, we were so exhausted and sleepy....

After we took a good and long nap, busy hours started by noon. I helped Mum in preparing some food for praying, also other cleaning and washing hoping to have all on standby....

At night, we preparing ourselves by dressing up "new" sleeping clothes so that Mum and Uncle Oon can perform the "hair combing ceremony" the moment past 12:00 midnight.

The four blessings are:-
一梳梳到尾,(First combing, together all your lives)
二梳百年好合,(Second combing, harmony in your marriage)
三梳子孙满堂,(Third combing, blessed with many children and grandchildren)
四梳白发齐眉。(Fourth combing, blessed with longevity.)

Sweet pink rice ball soup汤圆 will normally be served after the hair combing ceremony to wish the couple (in this case -> us) a complete and sweet marriage.

We went to rest after the ceremony hoping to be in a better shape of being a pretty bride and handsome bridegroom the next day :-)

In the morning of 27 October, we have invited our close relatives and friends to our house for lunch so we got up early to do mostly cooking, washing and preparing dishes for them.

We held the chinese wedding tea ceremony, gifts presentation as well as "ang-pows" presentation to our youngest cousins & their kids that day too.

Soon after that, Ivan (Sky) has got his bunch of friends from Johor and Singapore and he guided them to our house when they reached Alor Setar toll. His god-sister, husband and childrens were here too.

Around 3:30 pm, we have had an appointment with 2 hair stylists to do our make-up and hair (for 3 of us - myself, Mum and Ivan). After returning from hair-do, we got ourselves changed into wedding costumes and get ready to depart for dinner venue.

At 6'ish in the evening, my family members were already stand-by near the entrance to the hall, we are there to perform the 'meet and greet' to our invited guests.

Finally, our wedding reception started at 8:30 pm @ Tow Boo Keong斗母宫 Hall, Alor Setar with approximately 470 guests attended that night. We must say "thanks" to all who attended our wedding dinner that night! :)

Every guest invited to our wedding reception enjoys the ballroom dancing coordinated by my mum, also not forgetting the dancing school members and the lead dance instructor, Mr Wong. All the dancers were really-2 satisfied and we received good feedbacks from them when the dinner ends....

Even Jun Xie and his father, Alex went to the dance floor to dance grabbing Mum along... ka ka ka!

This was a good piece of rememberance memory for 2 of us (Ivan and me).....
