大阪府: 道頓堀 Dotonbori & 心齋橋 Shinsaibashi

Date: Friday, 11th April 2008 (Night Time)

We left Mosaic and came to Dotonbori and Shinsaibashi in Osaka, a shopping & eating paradise land.

Doton mean道頓 and bori mean堀. Shinsai mean心齋 and bashi mean橋.

• The 1st photo showed a crowded street of Dotonbori.



• The 2nd photo showed a long-serviced restaurant (many2 years) & very popular last time. Sad to hear that (told by tour guide) it is closing down soon, on 8/July/08.



• 3rd photo with a 'crab' signage is quite significant => Seafood Restaurant !!

Hmmm, where we had our dinner? We had BBQ dinner at Nijyu-Maru BBQ Restaurant nearby Dotonbori. We bought some snacks in Kobe (picture below), you will see Calbee potato sticks (original and cheese flavour), mineral water, apple juice, corn biscuits, orange and melon sweets, and lastly fried crab. Wow! this fried crab costs me ¥500 per stick (picture below)... but its yummy !!

After dinner, we went to Shinsaibashi (next to Dotonbori is Shinsaibashi) - there are many shops like 'Hello Kitty', fashion boutique outlets, shoes shop, shops like "Watson or Guardian", stocking shops (many nice designed or lacy printed stockings - be it black or brown), DVD/CD shop, bookstore, coffee bean outlet, accessories shops, electronic goods, handphone shops and etc.

One funny thing I discovered here is that many locals likes to cycle to places to eat/drinks/meet friends. All the wide areas outside these shops are used for bicycle parking hee!

In conclusion, Dotonbori has got all the food you want if you can name it whereas Shinsaibashi is famous for its neon lights at night!

Tonight, we stayed @ Rihga Royal Hotel Sakai in Osaka before we checked out next morning, and move on to Nara 奈良縣.
