SYNOPSIS

“Magnitude is about to start.”

You are about to go back to the time of Goguryeo, a time which was bigger than now.‘A time when our nation was the most beautiful’, ‘A time when our nation was the center of the world’. Have you ever met such a time?! dares to journey into a time no one has ever gone back to. The most surprising time in history has come back 2000 years later, a time when the nation made China fall down to their knees and when we fought other nations without any fear.

This drama portrays the life of the 19th king of Goguryeo. Jumong, the founder of Goguryeo, establish Goguryeo with his Four Gods: Cheong-ryong (Blue Dragon), Baek-ho (White Tiger), Joo-jak (Phoenix), Hyeon-mu (symbolized as a turtle). The Japanese may know them as Seiryuu, Byakko, Suzaku, and Genbu. Jumong marries Soseono, who had a big part in the founding of Goguryeo. They have two sons, Onjo and Biryu. When the son of Jumong’s first wife came to Goguryeo in search of his father, and is named Crown Prince, Soseono takes her sons, Onjo and Biryu, South and establishs Baekje. This is how Baekje and Goguryeo were known as “brother countries”.

This drama did not talked about their sons but more on Jumong and Soseono, his relationship with his 2 step-brothers, step-father, mother, his followers, and how he conquered the neighbourhood land.....

From "Jumong" and then "Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi 太王四神記", you would learnt more about the history of Korea, in short, their stories are related.

Frankly, this drama is very long, about 83 episodes but it is very educational if you have the patient to follow through. It featured the politics, hatred and jealousy inside a family, a country and a nation. If you take it to our reality, It is the same as what is going on now in our family, country and nation in the 21st century. This is the truth..... so be realistic in life :-)
