L&L - Strategy Framework

Yesterday, 11 Mar 2009, I have attended another learning on "Strategy Framework".

What is strategy? This topic is pretty dry. I still remembered when I was doing my business degree, I often need to read them many times in order to understand/apply it e.g. SWOT, PEST, Competitive Strategy, and to read out all Michael E. Porter's books....

Abstract

The concept of strategy has been borrowed from the military and adapted for use in business. A review of what noted writers about business strategy have to say suggests that adopting the concept was easy because the adaptation required has been modest. In business, as in the military, strategy bridges the gap between policy and tactics. Together, strategy and tactics bridge the gap between ends and means - reviews various definitions of strategy for the purpose of clarifying the concept and placing it in context. The presenter's aim is to make the concepts of policy, strategy, tactics, ends, and means more useful to those who concern themselves with these matters.... and many more.
