Visit to EEC

What is EEC?

EEC is Electricity Efficiency Centre (part of SP Services - A member of Singapore Power Group). SP Services Ltd, provides households and businesses in Singapore with a convenient "one-stop" service for their utility needs through its consolidated billing and collection, and customer management systems. It also provides meter reading, data management, and billing services to the electricity market - plus processes consumer registration and transfers for electricity retailers, thus playing a key role in facilitating competition and consumer choice in the liberalised electricity market.

We had a lunch visit to EEC on Friday, 27 March 2009. EEC is located @ PUB Building near Somerset MRT. With the visit, it creates awareness and also educated us how we can save electricity at home or at work. The basic calculations you can work on is:-

Power Rating (Watts) x Hours used x 30 days

So, xx kWh x $0.2293 = total (S$) consumption!

Final Tips

When buying new home appliances especially Air-Conditioner and Refrigerator, please look out for 4 markings/ticks because they are general guide to the appliance's energy-efficient which will help us to lower our electricity consumption and our electricity bill !!
