6 Days in Melbourne

I went to Australia with a girlfriend from the same office.

Day 1, QF flight arrived at 6 am (Melb is 2 hours later than S'pore)

- Janet came to pick us up at the airport. Weather temperature: 12-14'C.

- Took a short nap at Janet's house in Ascott Vale, Brunswick.

- Went out for breakfast nearby Brunswick.

- Done first day shopping around Toorak Road - full of boutique shops.

- We shopped till 4 pm for late lunch nearby. We had vietnamese beef noodles. Wow! It was really nice.

- Went home to take a short nap and get changed. Then, went out for western dinner @ Federation Square. It's a restaurant called Arintje. The food was nice and delicious. It was a nice treat from Mark, a friend of mine. I used to take red wine but for that night, I have ordered riseling wine for a change...

- The night view of Federation Square is awesome!!!

Day 2, shopped @ Swanton Street (missed Great Ocean tour)

- To wake up at 6 am but tuned the time wrongly, so woke up at 7 am. Took a tram from Janet's house to Federation Square but was 20 minutes late for the coach. It went off without me.....Therefore, I have to change my tour to Sunday, 17 June.

- Went shopping alone at Swanton Street, St Kilda Road, & Flinders Street. Bought boots and kitchenwares (gift for Janet).

- Have sushi lunch nearby and packed one set for Janet.

- Took a tram back to Janet's home (I recognized her place). She was home because she had scheduled technician to come & fix the heater. Our other friend, Sim went out to visit her office colleagues in Elizabeth Street. She came back slightly later, about 4 pm.

- I took a short nap and then prepared for dinner. Janet brought us to
"Brasserie Restaurant" for western food. This restaurant is located near Crown Hotel & Southbank (Yarra River).

Day 3 & 4 - Mornington Peninsula (1 hour drive out of Melbourne)

- Woke up at 7 am and packed some clothings for a trip to Mornington Peninsula. My breakfast is McDonald's breakfast set. Five (5) of us going including Leeanne and her husband, Rod. He's the chauffeur driving us around.....

- We did wine testing, AUD 2.00 per pax (FOC if buying wine with the owner).

- Beautiful wine yard...

- We had seafood lunch @ The Rocks in Mornington Peninsula.

- Can see beautiful yachts parking at the bay. It's windy too...

- We had few stops at some areas e.g.
Frankston, Mornington, Flinders, Arthur's Seat & Cape Schanck.

- In Mornington, we stayed @ RACV Cape Schanck Resort. Our dinner that night was Pizza (many flavours) and we watched the movie "The Eye" together that night. Found that Sim and Leeanne scares to see it....

- Next morning, we checked out and had buffet breakfast at the resort.

- Drove along the coastlines & had a few stops at places like Rosebud & Sorrento. Normally, we will have coffee/tea during our stops (I normally take hot chocolate). Did little shopping there too. I bought another boot shoe there.

- We had vietnamese beef noodles for lunch before heading back to Leeanne's house.

- Janet picked up her car at Leeanne's house first. We decided not to head home straight, we went shopping instead. It's a mall called 'Westfield' (near Leeanne's house), inside we can find MYER, Coles, Adidas, Body Shop and all kinds of australian brand shops.

- After shopping, Janet drove us to a place for 'steamboat dinner', a chinese restaurant called
Sichuan Restaurant.

- I went to bed early because I need to wake up early for my Great Ocean Tour the next day.

Day 5 - Great Ocean Road (8 am to 7 pm)

- Janet sent me to the Federation Square, where the ATP coaches waited for their customers. The coach left at 8 am. So, I packed my 'subway' sandwich to eat as breakfast.

- Great Ocean Road is really beautiful, it is famous with Twelve Apostles located @ Port Campbell National Park. It's windy & cold, fingers gets numb easily...

- I met a lady by the name of Jenny Sun from Shanghai. She is alone joining this tour, like me. A friendly lady and we became friend after the tour.

- This tour started at Great Ocean Road and ended at Geelong. It's beautiful to see the coach drove past the coastlines e.g. Port Campbell, Apollo Bay, Lorne, Anglesea, Torquay and Geelong.

- The coach sent me back to Federation Square at 7'ish where Janet/Sim picked me up.

- We had dinner @ Crystal Jade Restaurant. This time, we went for chinese cuisines.

- It was our last night stay at Janet's house.

- Other sceneries @ Great Ocean Road....

Day 6 - Depart for Cairns

- We woke up at 6 am and prepared ourselves. Taxi came to pick us up at 7'ish to the airport. Our flight to Brisbane was at 11 am which then connected us to Cairns....
