中部 - 愛知縣 Aichi: 名古屋 Nagoya

Date: Saturday, 12th April 2008 (Evening)

After lunch, we left Kyoto 奈良縣, approaching 愛知縣 through a highway to come to Nagoya 名古屋, one of the 5 largest cities in Japan.

[ Aichi 愛知縣 is situated at the center of Japan and is roughly divided into the mountainous, hilly area and the plain. Aichi has been a pivotal point for the traffic between western and eastern Japan, and has flourished as the base for industries since olden days. ]

We were introduced to Nagoya Station & Sakae 名古屋車站邊的繁華街 「榮」. Over here, we seen the Nagoya TV Tower 名古屋TV塔 (180m tall) and Oasis 21 (picture above). The architectures of these 2 towers are quite unique! Surprisingly, it has ranked the tallest & unique tower in the world.

盈盈 told us this TV Tower will be moved nearer to Tokyo city, they have found a spacious land, working on rebuilding, the tower is taller than now.

Next on the list is Nagoya underground shopping mall 名古屋地下街百貨商店 with nearly 600 shoplots. Apparently, they are just 1 level below my legs (3rd picture above) - this is a park for peoples to hang-outs. We met some cherry blossoms trees here too. The Mitsui Koshi (about 1 km walk from Nagoya Station) is a popular place to shop for all kinds of Burberry's Blue Label handbags. So, we went to Mitsui Koshi first before we pop over to Nagoya underground shopping mall. Along the way, walking back to Nagoya Station, I saw a Louis Vuitton shop and took a picture of it (3rd picture below).

After shopping, the coach drove us to a restaurant located along the Aichi Highway for our dinner. I would call it 'Highway Restaurant'. Hmm, their food is so tasty & delicious (better than lunch meal in Kyoto) :-\

Tonight, we stayed @ Hotel Nikko Toyohashi. It is just for 1 night. We will check-out tomorrow and moved on to another hotel. After breakfast, while waiting for the coach, I found many beautiful flowers outside this hotel, of course, I will never let go of this opportunity.... I also took a picture of the residential houses across the hotel (3rd picture below).

With that, we ended our sights-seeing in Nagoya....
