Call for New Musical: Expectations!

What have I been busy with lately?

I am busy practising some songs with fellow members of BF. BF is a Buddhist Fellowship located at Yeo's Building (near Telok Belangah). 佛光山 Fo Guang Shan is the chinese version, located in Punggol whereas BF is the english version.

It's the "The Soracco Musical Group" I am involved in (also the first time I am experiencing such performance!)....

This musical group of the Buddhist Fellowship (Singapore) will be presenting an original musical entitled "Expectations!" at the Jubilee Hall Theatre at Raffles Hotel, as part of its Vesak celebrations. Co-written and co-directed by Lim Kay Siu (acted in Phua Chu Kang), the run will take place from 20-23 May @ 8:00 pm.

ABOUT THE SHOW

As its name suggests, Expectations! takes us into the baggage everyone has to carry with their relationships: the expectations of our partners, our familities, our friends, and many, many more pieces of clothing that threaten to leave a mess of the ties between man and wife, boyfriedn and girlfriend. The musical presents these issues with a light-hearted approach; yet the experiences and the emotions connect to our hearts. The show contains original musical numbers which heighten the emotional aspects of the musical. These numbers will be performed by the leads as well as a chorus.

ABOUT THE SORACCO MUSICAL GROUP

The Soracco Musical Group is a performing arts branch of the Buddhist Fellowship. It aims to deliver the messages of the dharma through high quality arts performances. Since its formation in 2005, it has actively conceptualised and staged many successful large and small-scale musical events and performances, many of which have been met with acclaim. Highlights include the revue Opening the Door of Your Heart (2005, restaged 2006), based on selected stories from Ajahn Brahm's popular book of the same title, the musical Passge of Time (2007, restaged 2008), as well as a concert entitled consisting of contemporary Buddhist and popular fare entitled Vesak! Vesak! Vesak! (2009).
