Dried Figs and Pear Sweet Soup
There are 4 types of desserts (甜润糖水) I have boiled (using slow cooker) several weekends ago....
Ingredients
2 pears
4 dried figs 无花果
1 tbsp wolfberries
1 litre water
some honey
Methods
1. Peel and core pears and cut into small pieces. Cut dried figs into 1/4 pieces and rinse together wolfberries.
2. Bring to boil the water, then add in pears, dried figs and turn the flame into low heat and cook for another 30 mins.
3. Add in wolfberries and turn off the flame. Allow it to cool slightly and season with honey.
Figs
Figs are rich in carbohydrates and protein. Scientific research proves that figs help fight cancer, reduce blood pressure and stop diarrhoea. From Chinese medical point of view, figs invigorate the spleen, cleanse the intestines, detoxify and ease swelling. They are also used to cure haemorrhoid, enteritis, dysentery and sore throats. Patients suffers from stroke, fatty liver, normal kalemic periodic paralysis are not suitable to consume figs. Figs are not advisable to consume by person who its feces is thin and watery like.
